**The Manager key responsibilities are:

- Lead the contemporary transformation across Information Services, and provision of high level strategic advice, information and support to senior officers on strategies to adopt and embed contemporary tools and ways of working, innovation management, policy and service management issues and opportunities, ensuring alignment to departmental objectives and Queensland Government frameworks.
- Develop, embed and grow the contemporary ways of working framework and adoption strategy and digital innovation model, including clear and appropriate options and benefits and adequate consultation with ICT teams to ensure maximum benefit and modernisation.
- Drive an ICT workforce strategy that is responsive to emerging technologies and adopts contemporary practices to improve efficiency and agility to meet business needs. Design and implement continuous learning programs to upskill the ICT workforce on contemporary technologies and ways of working. Identify skill gaps and appropriate learning pathways in line with the contemporary transformation objectives.
- Proactively build strong networks across Information Services, and manage the collaboration and liaison across strategic, tactical and operational technical teams about emerging technology and digital needs and trends. Advocate for the delivery of innovative technologies and contemporary methodologies, tools, processes and capabilities to support services that are client-centric, cost-effective and responsive to business needs and improve our information systems, information management practices and procedures.
- Engage strategically with senior officers and executives about their emerging needs and ICT strategies, so you can identify, evaluate and recommend options, and guide them through the innovation process necessary to achieve their desired outcomes, aligned with the ICT planning, prioritisation and governance processes.
- Provide timely, strategic and expert advice to the IS Leadership team, on the progress of contemporary practice adoption, innovation initiatives, including issues and risks and coordinate submissions, reports, executive briefs and other correspondence.
- Liaise and consult with government and non-government agencies, attend whole-of-government forums, and monitor emerging ICT industry developments and best practice trends to identify and recommend contemporary and innovative technologies, methodologies, tools and processes.
