Catholic Healthcare’s commitment to advancing reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through this ‘Reflect’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a meaningful and important milestone. This plan signifies our continued dedication to developing respectful relationships, enhancing cultural awareness, and creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within the areas we operate in, including Residential Care, Home and Community Services, and Retirement Living across New South Wales and Southeast Queensland.
We have a new opportunity to lead the implementation of Catholic Healthcare’s Mission Strategic Plan (MISP) with a particular focus on the Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Reporting to and working in collaboration with the Chief of Mission Integration and other key internal and external stakeholders, your role will be to lead, operationalise and coordinate the implementation of the RAP Plan to build CHL engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations.
You will have the opportunity to implement Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives across the organisation, developing tailored and relevant program artefacts and reports in line with CHL’s Project Management Framework, to inform, educate and coordinate resources and key stakeholders.
You will lead the RAP Working Group (RWG) to ensure members are supported and Reflect RAP deliverables and deadlines are met and with members of the RWG to develop resources for cultural learning, community engagement, and service models and practice. Additionally, you will identify and respond to RAP partner priorities in a proactive and resident/client focused way.
Your ability to actively build and maintain strong relationships, provide relevant resources to managers and employees across the service areas that strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander relationships in addition to engaging with employees and clients/residents who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander will aid your success in this integral position.
- Tertiary qualification in either project management, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, services, community services, education, or equivalent
- Demonstrated engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities, and organisations, and an understanding of historical and contemporary issues that impact on different communities
- Prior experience in supporting the development or delivery of organisation-wide RAP or similar approach in a state context - preferred
- Demonstrated experience in developing cultural resources to support culturally sensitive services and culturally safe working environments
- Ability to relate to a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds, including cross-cultural communication
- Strong project management skills and delivering projects within specified timeframes
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Suite
- Confident facilitation/presentation skills
- Ability to engage and participate in complex discussions and decision-making.
- Understanding the Catholic tradition in the context of reconciliation with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples
- Understanding the spiritual journey within the ageing process, providing for inclusion and valuing of all people
- Willingness to obtain Police Check and travel to sites
- Vehicle and NSW Drivers Licence preferred
