**The Opportunity**
Chandler Macleod is looking to engage a Financial Systems Officer for a contract term of 10 weeks with a well-established Local Government Department. This role will be based in the Sydney CBD with flexible working arrangements on offer.

**Job Specification**
The Financial Systems Officer will be responsible for assisting in control of the financial system including interaction with any other associated systems. This responsibility extends to identification of system, process and data control issues, review of alternative options, and implementation of system improvements to ensure that the financial system functions at the forefront of best industry practice.

A key component of this responsibility is the need to enhance internal controls through the identification, evaluation, and assessment of the adequacy of Council's existing financial risk management controls. Recommendations for improvements are to be formulated, including recognition of any cost implications, and implemented on approval to ensure that exposure is minimised.

In this role, your day to day responsibilities will include:

- Business needs analysis, consultation, development, automation and testing with users on requirements in
reports and their distribution
forms
business information needs
business process solutions
- Adhoc user support, system familiarisation and identification of training needs
- Documentation of all processes and system changes
- Provide support in the management and administration of systems that interrelate with the finance system
- Support and maintenance of selected Business Objects reports and universes utilised by Finance
- Consultation with business groups to resolve their financial processing and information requirements

**About You**
- Ability to reason conceptually and solve complex business problems through input of suitable business solutions.
- Experience in computerised accounting systems, competence in maintaining complex data sets, and ability to present complex and varied data in a simple, concise, easy to understand manner. This includes the design, build and distribution of reports from a variety of tools.
- Ability to undertake systems administration of financial software, ensuring that the system and its environment are performing efficiently, problems are resolved quickly and the system is available to users.
- Ability to meet the challenge of functioning in an organisation undergoing rapid change.
- Highly developed ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
