**Who we are**
The Finance Division supports the department to be efficient, effective and financially sustainable through our business partnerships. The division provides financial and management advice and support to the department, the offices of the ministers and assistant ministers and to industry stakeholders. The division delivers on business objectives through the provision of high-quality customer service, advice and support and a consistent approach to business, with consideration to the government’s tight fiscal environment, its significant reform agenda and the department’s imperative to maintain financial sustainability.

The Financial Management Branch is part of Finance Division within Enabling Services Group, and is responsible for: financial reporting; internal budgeting and executive reporting; management reporting and divisional finance support, as well as maintaining our financial and business systems. We provide high-quality client service, financial advice, and support to help the Department achieve its goals.

**The Job**
We are looking for highly motivated and high performing Finance Business Partners who will help DCCEEW’s leaders make well-informed decisions. You will have strong problem solving and analytical skills; the ability to respond in a positive and flexible manner to change, and to think creatively to support and solve business challenges will be looked upon favourably.

Your role as an APS 6 Finance Business Partner in the Financial Management Branch includes:

- engaging with stakeholders from all over DCCEEW to help them manage their budgets and achieve their goals, with a focus on providing excellent client service
- supporting a diverse team in the delivery of high-quality service and outcomes, including providing clear and consistent communication, and supervising team members
- developing and maintaining collaborative relationships across the Department
- providing financial management support, budget preparation and financial performance monitoring and reporting
- providing advice and support to clients on a range of financial matters.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
We are looking for experienced finance professionals who possess:

- experience building and maintaining relationships with a network of internal and external stakeholders
- experience in undertaking complex financial analysis and providing evidence-based advice
- experience in leading stakeholders and teams through change, by working collaboratively
- experience assessing and evaluating financial management strategies, initiatives, projects, policies and procedures. Your experience will have given you the ability to translate financial information and data into practical advice that your stakeholders can use to make well-informed business decisions.

**Skills and capabilities**
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and financial skills with an emphasis on working collaboratively.
- An ability to interpret and communicate complex financial matters simply to a range of stakeholders.
- A capacity to be flexible, creative and manage multiple deadlines, sometimes under pressure.
- Well-developed initiative and strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to innovate and think laterally.
- An ability to assess and evaluate financial management strategies, initiatives, projects, policies and procedures.

**Desirable qualifications**
- A degree in business, finance, or related disciplines; or significant experience in the financial fields.
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards.)
