**Position Information**:
Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, Tumbi Umbi Campus has an enrolment of 1033 students, with 152 students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. It is a dynamic and inclusive middle years campus. We work constructively with nine partner schools delivering quality education to the local community from Preschool to Year 12 and beyond. Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, Tumbi Umbi Campus provides innovative and inclusive programs that engage learners in age and stage appropriate experiences, designed to extend their aspirations. Staff are committed to providing an innovative curriculum and extra curricula activities within a safe, supportive setting. The campus’ wellbeing focus is based on clear, consistent boundaries, high expectations and personal recognition for students and staff. Its three key actions are focused on relationships, routines and rituals that build and strengthen connections. The school has strong links with the local Kuriwa AECG.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Expert knowledge and demonstrated ability to lead the PDHPE faculty to plan, implement and review curriculum and embed evidence-based teaching and learning programs to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the executive team to lead, implement and evaluate processes that address whole school priorities and build capacity, contributing to a cycle of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead staff in differentiating programs and practices to meet diverse student learning and wellbeing needs, including the needs of HPGE through our Talent Development in Sports program, and students needing learning support in PDHPE.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively engage Aboriginal students, families and community, promoting the notion that Aboriginal education is everyone’s business and encourages an increase in the numbers of Aboriginal students reaching their learning potential.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
