Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land - the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
The Gallery attracts around 2 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
With our expanded campus recent opening the Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

**About the role**
Manage and coordinate the Art Gallery’s editorial program, leading multiple projects to ensure the achievement of the Art Gallery’s objectives.
**What technical / soft skills you require**
1. Appropriate tertiary qualification or relevant, equivalent professional experience in editing and publishing.
2. Well-developed knowledge and understanding of editorial and publishing practices and innovations within a cultural organisation.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and promote editorial strategies and strategic objectives to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated experience in managing a team which delivers editorial activities and projects to meet the objectives of the organisation.
5. Sound editorial judgment across all areas.
6. Effective stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate.
7. Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking and planning.
8. Experience in content creation and delivery across multiple platforms is desirable but not essential.
