Medium Rare Content Agency is looking for a highly professional and performance-driven Editorial Director with proven experience leading magazine and digital publications for business and finance brands.
In this senior role, you will have overall responsibility for the editorial strategy, creative direction, and commercial integration of a high-profile content portfolio for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). You will lead the development of ambitious editorial plans across print, digital, social, and audio, ensuring content is of the highest quality, engages audiences, and delivers on both brand and business objectives.
You will work productively and collaboratively with AICD as a trusted partner, understanding their content ecosystem needs, shaping their editorial agenda, and ensuring seamless integration across channels. Your role will balance hands-on editorial involvement with high-level strategy, strong stakeholder management, and a sharp commercial mindset.
You will champion creative excellence, driving innovative approaches to storytelling, design, and engagement while maintaining the highest editorial standards. This role requires a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver results.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a cohesive editorial strategy across multi-channel platforms (print, digital, social, audio)
- Develop and oversee ambitious editorial plans that align with audience needs and client goals
- Ensure the highest editorial standards through top editing and quality control
- Partner with AICD stakeholders to shape content strategies that support organisational objectives
- Manage and mentor editorial teams, freelancers, and contributors to foster creativity and accountability
- Analyse content performance data to refine strategy, grow audiences, and maximise impact
Who are you?
- An experienced editorial leader (10+ years), ideally as an editor-in-chief or editorial director in business or client publishing
- Skilled at balancing strategic vision with hands-on content involvement
- Strong stakeholder manager, confident working directly with senior clients in a collaborative way
- Commercially minded, able to integrate revenue opportunities without compromising integrity
- A proven team leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams
- Innovative and adaptable, with a track record of driving engagement and audience growth across platforms
