**The Role**
The purpose of this role is to set and execute the daily and long-term agendas for the NITV Digital team.
Reporting to the Head of Digital, this role will see you use creative thinking and editorial judgement to assist journalists and producers in creating multimedia content that is central to NITV’s Digital Strategy and is appropriate for our audiences. As part of this role you would:

- Research and commission news, feature and creative article content, contribute ideas for multimedia features, social media and other digital content on a daily basis, ensuring they are in line with SBS Purpose & Values, SBS Codes of Practice and Editorial Guidelines and timelines.
- Keep across developing news, assigning Digital Journalists to write online copy for fast turnaround, and writing when required.
- In conjunction with the NITV News & SBS Online teams, develop innovative editorial ideas designed to build audience and engagement across NITV/SBS sites.
- Conduct training for other staff in NITV Content Management systems and other NITV Digital workflows.
- Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Engage in clear and open communication with all NITV departments to build an online presence.

**About you**
- Journalism skills, including; reporting, writing and editing skills, and a strong knowledge of local and national Indigenous news and current affairs.
- A demonstrated ability to break stories and find original reporting lines.
- A demonstrated ability to work to editorial guidelines as well as manage long-term projects.
- Strong skills in social media
- Ability to find new storytelling methods and the ability to repurpose digital content in a creative way across a variety of mediums and platforms.
- Proven ability to generate social media content that leads to greater engagement and interaction with online audiences.
- Sound knowledge of media law and community management best-practice, including the ability to moderate and edit forums, blogs and other user-generated content.
- Desirable: Demonstrated leadership and management experience
