**Position Information**:
Hobartville Public School is a comprehensive K-6 primary school located in Richmond NSW in the heart of the Hawkesbury area north-west of Sydney. The school has a historical connection to the Richmond and Hawkesbury community. We instil respect for ourselves and our community as well as a love for learning.

Hobartville Public School has a current enrolment of 342 students, including 14% Aboriginal students.

Our 18 classes include a well-integrated multicategorical support unit of 5 classes.

Our library is an integral hub for the school with a focus on incorporating information skills objectives and related syllabus outcomes into teaching programs. The teacher librarian teaches all students across the school.

The school is an active partner in the Richmond Learning Community which now includes the Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Education with a STEM and future-focused agriculture emphasis.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Approval to teach library (primary), or currently undertaking, or enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with capacity to work collaboratively with students, staff and the community.
- Proven ability to utilise explicit teaching practices systematically to deliver skills, concepts and content knowledge in the right sequence according to the current syllabus, providing the building blocks towards mastery.
- Demonstrated skills in developing, managing and evaluating procedures around library budgeting, selection and acquisitions and circulation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead whole school programs and extra-curricular activities directly related to the school library.

This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days per week (0.8 FTE).

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months
