Telecommunications Network Designer

**About the role**

**Ventia** have been awarded increased works from one of our major clients and therefore we are seeking an experienced **Telecommunications Network Designer** / Associate Telecommunications Engineer to join the existing team. This position will be working within our National Wireless and Specialised Coverage Solutions division. Ideally based out of our ultra-modern offices in **Cremorne** with work from home flexibility.

This group has an excellent reputation in the industry and predominately focuses on the consultation, design and installation of mobile telecommunications **IBC **(In Building Coverage) and **DAS **(Distributed Antenna Systems), fixed broadband and signal jamming solutions for residential and commercial buildings, shopping centres, road / rail tunnels and bridges, prisons, stadiums and shopping centres.

This role's prime responsibilities are:

- Complete design documentation and commissioning support of fixed broadband networks utilising fibre and radio backbone/core networks targeting residential and commercial buildings
- Technical documentation incorporating detailed design, as built documents and handover packs using MS Visio, MS Excel
- Complete the required design’s a demonstrated understanding of general construction, building materials, safety in design, electrical wiring / telecommunications cabling rules should support your technical / engineering skillset.
- Liaising with customers and building owners to obtain site access for field/site activities.
- Liaise with subcontractors as part of the design and build process
- Post design / audit installed network equipment to ensure compliance with client’s standards and work with installation teams to rectify
- support the team leader and engineering team with design reviews/markups, template updates and contractor management

**About You**
The role will ideally suit aspiring Telecommunication Engineers (or similar industry) with ideally 3+ years’ experience.

**If you have Radio (RF), microwave, fibre, telecommunications experience this role may suit you.**

You'll need to be able to demonstrate that you
- Can identify, understand, and clearly document a building's telecommunications cabling infrastructure (Wired Phone/Ethernet, MDF, IDF etc)
- Can identify and clearly document a buildings comms room/s, determine the available space for new equipment and the existing AC mains within each room
- Have a demonstrated interest or prior learning across Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, Radio Communications and/or Electrical Engineering. Bachelor or tertiary qualification
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)

**Other requirements**
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass police checks as required to permit you access to government and other critical infrastructure sites
- Physical ability and willingness to carry out practical site activities including working at heights. Note: Rooftop access on buildings will mostly be via stairs, climbing not required
- Willingness to travel interstate and work outside of office hours (if required)
