The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking a highly experienced Product Data Management (DM) expert to come onboard to support our Product Data Management capability. This position will require you to use your strong knowledge of Product Data Management standards, processes and best practice to provide support and direction to a range of defence projects. In this position you will work within a large Product Configuration and Data Management capability to support the creation and delivery of world-leading aerospace and defence products and services. This role is based in Brisbane.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide expert Product Data Management support and direction to a range of defence projects. These projects range across all arms of defence and cover the complete range of lifecycle e.g. prototype, acquisition, sustainment and disposal.
- Company wide support of Product Data Management activities including but not limited to;Develop, review and implement Product Data Management business processes and guides in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Engineer under the BDA Engineering Management System.
- Campaign Support;
- Planning and development of the Product DM program,
- Assist and provide input to the response documentation required for the tender to adequately describe the Product DM program,
- Assist with Product DM resourcing estimates,
- Work with campaign staff to establish a data repository to support all campaign requirements.
- Project Start up;
- Assist the project Product DM specialists to design a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment that supports all project needs and is consistent with BDA policy and requirements,
- Assist with the development and review of each project's Product Data Management Plan to ensure that it is compliant with business process, Product DM standards and meets industry best practice,
- Support the training and development of team members to ensure consistency of the Product DM program company wide.
- Project Execution
- Provide execution support to projects during surge periods or during times of extended staff absence,
- Provide support to project Product DM specialists in the development and execution of dedicated Product DM training specific to each program,
- Regularly audit programs to ensure compliance with BDA Product Data Management guidelines and policy.
- Develop, review and implement Product Data Management business processes and guides in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Engineer under the BDA Engineering Management System
- Work with the BDA PLM team to ensure that BDA policy and requirements are being met with all new deployed capability.
Experience/Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role;
- Formal Data Management training / certification;
- Experienced in the development of processes and guides with a strong understanding of GEIA-HB-859 Implementation Guide for Data Management;
- Experienced in training and assessment;
- Experienced in managing data in a Product Lifecycle Management system;
- Applicants must be able to travel to local, interstate and, on occasion, international project locations as required.
