St Nicholas is seeking a visionary and accomplished **Head of OOSH** to lead our expanding network of Out of School Hours (OOSH) services. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with real influence, based at our **Newcastle West Support Office**, and supported by a dedicated **Executive Assistant**. We are offering a** base** **salary of $190,000**, plus **fully maintained vehicle**, **superannuation**, and your own **allocated parking space**.

**POSITION**DESCRIPTION

The **Head of OOSH** provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across all St Nicholas Out of School Hours services, working closely with the Director and Leadership Team to develop and implement sustainable, high-quality service strategies. Leading key operational areas—including Nominated Supervisors, Practice Support, and Professional Development—the role ensures service excellence, compliance, enrolment growth, and financial sustainability.

Acting as a key escalation point, the Head of OOSH collaborates with schools and stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader educational outcomes, while upholding best practice governance, Work Health and Safety standards, and fulfilling regulatory obligations as a Person of Management or Control (PMC).

**EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA**
- Demonstrated ability to develop, execute and achieve outcomes of strategic plans in a collegial manner
- Demonstrated ability in the development and set up of new OOSH and OOSH services
- Desire and capacity to engage and work with other Diocese agency heads and external stakeholders to find partnerships in practice
- The ability to contribute to the decision making and management of financial budgets and projects. This includes supporting Managers to work within financial constraints.
- Advanced communication skills including an ability to prepare high level reports to senior management
- The ability to handle multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines under time pressure

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Tertiary qualifications in education (Birth - 12 Years) or, business-related qualification or demonstrated sector experience
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a senior leadership position within the sector
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- National Criminal History check clearance
- Post-graduate qualification in leadership or management (Desirable).
