**What you'll be doing**

The primary purpose of the role is to develop appropriate knowledge and technical skills to fulfil the requirements of the RCPA for training in Microbiology and to become a competent Microbiologist; and to fulfil the service requirements of the department, including contributing to the provision of advice to clinicians regarding test selection, review and verification of laboratory results, notification and discussion of results with clinicians, attendance and participation in meetings, including Infectious Diseases/Microbiology multidisciplinary meetings, conducting research and attendance at Infectious Diseases outpatient clinics.

**Selection Criteria**
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in appropriate registration category
- Evidence of general registration and 24 months of clinical experience
- Evidence of working in a multidisciplinary team environment, including improvement in patient care and an understanding of the NSW Health Code of Conduct
- Evidence of satisfactory participation in quality improvement initiatives relevant to Microbiology
- Evidence of vocational interest in Microbiology (e.g. employment, previous training or research in Microbiology or related field)

**Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases**
