The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is seeking to provide an exciting opportunity for a person who has a genuine interest in a career within the Community Development Section.

This key role connects with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and services providers and provides opportunities for people to be heard, recognised, celebrated and contribute to improving cultural and individual outcomes and fosters reconciliation.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Building and maintaining effective working relationships, collaborations, and partnerships
- Designing, implementing and evaluating projects, activities and initiatives which build wellbeing and quality of life in collaboration with others
- Developing and delivering activities, events and awards which recognise, promote, and celebrate Aboriginal cultural heritage and contribution to our shared community
- Ensuring Council’s Aboriginal Advisory Panel operates effectively and efficiently by providing professional advice, timely communication, and executive officer support

**The successful applicant will ideally possess**:

- Experience working with and building positive working relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, groups and service providers
- Experience in listening, advocating and addressing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and developing initiatives which address the needs raised and build the capacity of people involved
- Sound project design, implementation and evaluation skills
- Effective written and communications skills for policies, plans and strategic documents

The filling of this position is intended to constitute a special/equal opportunity measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth), and s 65 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA). This position is therefore only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

This is a Level 5 position which has a current salary range of $93,189 - $97,398 (plus Super)
