**About the role**:
As a Cleaning Area Manager for Sydney Trains Stations, you will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning operations**.** Your primary focus will be to lead a high-performing team, ensuring adherence to all cleaning standards and procedures while maintaining a strong, collaborative relationship with the client.
**Location**: Central Station, Eddy Avenue, Sydney.
**Shift times**: This is a salaried position requiring flexibility for afternoon and overnight shifts, working on a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday.
**Are you the right fit?**
You are a professional with a proven background in managing cleaning teams across multiple sites, preferably within a transport, government, or similar high-traffic environment. You possess a strong understanding of commercial cleaning processes and are a natural leader who can motivate a team to achieve the highest standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- ** Operational Management**: Manage the service delivery and performance of daily cleaning operations at Central Station.
- ** Quality Assuranc**e: Conduct regular cleaning checks and inspections to ensure standards are met.
- ** Safety & Compliance**: Enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- ** Roster & Budget Management**: Prepare and manage rosters to meet budgetary requirements and modern award standards.
- ** Stock Control**: Manage stock levels and ensure the team has the necessary supplies.
- ** Team Leadership**: Lead, train, and support your team, empowering them to deliver their best work.
- ** Client Relations**: Build and maintain effective and lasting client relationships with the Sydney Trains team.
- ** Performance & Safety**: Implement initiatives to drive a high-performing and safe work environment.
- ** Reporting**: Provide regular reporting and operational analytics.
**What we are looking for**:
- ** Experience**: Previous experience managing commercial cleaning teams is essential.
- ** Mandatory certifications and checks**:
- Valid Driver's Licence.
- Current Police Check.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Valid RIW Card (Rail Industry Worker).
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- ** Leadership Skills**: Proven success in leading and developing a high-performing team.
- ** Knowledge**: Strong understanding of commercial cleaning equipment, chemical handling, and WHS requirements. Working knowledge of the Cleaning Services Award is highly regarded.
- ** Professionalism**: Very high attention to detail, strong time management, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must also have a good presentation and fluency in English.
