We are urgently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer for a temporary assignment with a local government department.
Commencing asap, this role will be rostered 3 days/week (and we can be flexible on which weekdays) for the next 5 months, working 8:00am - 4:30pm. Duties include:
- Ensuring all invoices are processed accurately, within timeframes and in compliance with relevant tax legislation (including GST and FBT and the BIF Act)
- Reconciling Supplier Statements to ensure timely payment of invoices
- Responding to enquiries from suppliers regarding payment processes
- Monitoring the performance of accounts payable in relation to on hold reports
- Maintaining knowledge of the relevant legislative, statutory, accounts payable systems and processes, financial and contractual requirements for the provision of a high-quality payment service.
- Associated recordkeeping and administrative duties.
To be considered for this opportunity, you should demonstrate:
- Accounts payable experience, including substantial skill in processing invoices/payments requests
- Knowledge in relation to the supply chain process (ideally, this will include procurement to payment process in a large organisation)
- Confidence learning and using financial systems (experience using SAP or Oracle an advantage)
- Well developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Team player with sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Availability to commence as soon as possible
