**About the role**:
Officeworks is embarking on an exciting organisational change within the People Team and we are looking for an experienced People Advisory Leader with extensive team and project management experience to join our People team on an 18 month FTC.
This role will be critical in leading the design and execution of our new People Advisory model, whilst leading a centralised employee relations team that will manage the organisations grievance and dispute resolution process. This role presents a unique opportunity to provide thought leadership and expertise to design, develop and implement the advisory model from being decentralised today, to a centralised model in the future. Through the utilisation of technology, this role will help drive best in class service, supporting the delivery of business goals, while ensuring we not only meet our legal and regulatory obligations, but we do this through role modelling our Officeworks values.
In this role you will:
- Develop and implement a People Advisory model, through consistent processes and improved technology that supports, transforms and aligns ER case management and complex HR queries.
- Partner with our IT and Team Member Experience System team to identify a HRIS solution designed for case management and workflow solution to support the people advisory service model.
- Facilitate a team culture which is accessible, approachable and encourages stakeholders to seek employee relations advice at an early stage to minimise risk.
- Ensure the People & Capability Team and People Leaders are provided with the required support to assist with the resolution of employee relations issues and cases, including investigation of complaints and representation before various regulatory bodies as required.
- Provide specialist advice, counsel, coaching and support to the business in all areas of queries, Employee Relations, and including EBA, modern award and National Employment Standards interpretation, payroll and entitlements, team member benefits, policies, procedures and processes, commencing & ending employment.
- Build on the technical capability of the people advisory team, while focused on simplifying the complex and the best people outcomes.
- Continue to review ways of working, process and team capability, focused on operational excellence and execution.
**About you**:
You are a strategic HR Leader with a strong background in People & Capability, People Advisory or Employee Relations. You have a passion for working with people, innovating, solving complex problems and creating more efficient ways of working. Your strengths and experience include:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field.
- Extensive experience in employee relations management in a complex and dynamic environment - including expert knowledge of modern awards, employment legislation and National Employment Standards.
- Experience in the design and implementation of shared service model, particularly building out the foundational activities of setting up a people advisory operation and team.
- Previous experience leading project implementation and efficiency and effectiveness programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects effectively.
