**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a suitable applicant to fill the position of Landscape Manager within the Landscape Services team in the Property Services branch. The Landscape Services team maintains 23 Hectares of manicured gardens at Parliament House including 10 hectares of turf, 13 hectares of native and courtyard gardens and a formal garden with annual flower displays.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the department and work with a dynamic team of Horticulturists to work in one of Australia’s most iconic buildings, Australian Parliament House, in a rewarding role supported by training, together with other benefits including a free gym membership, free parking and competitive salary.
**Who we are looking for**:
- Demonstrated experience in team management, working planning and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including Parliamentarians,
- Visitors to the building and building occupants.
**Job Specific Requirements**:
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Coordinate the development of maintenance programs and ensure their implementation with
the Gardeners-in-Charge/Senior Gardeners.
2. Allocate human and material resources in accordance with the work program; ensure the
highest standards of safety in all areas of operation in accordance with WH&S policy.
3. Oversee the use of all machinery, equipment, and pesticide use.
4. Liaise with stakeholders, contractors and suppliers with regard to the management of
the Landscape.
5. Oversee the development of apprentices in horticulture/turf management.
6. Ensure the highest standards of safety in all areas of operation in accordance with WH&S policy.
