The purpose of the High Performance Paralympic program is to cultivate world’s best Para Swimming daily performance environments, pathways, programs and people. The National Head Coach, Paralympic Program plays a crucial role in engaging a team who are excited by our audacious ambitions and aligned to our Values of **Courage **, **Unity **and **Excellence **.

We are looking globally for a passionate and highly motivated technical leader to join our team with the aspiration of leading our Paralympic Swimming team to world number one. This exciting opportunity is a Full Time position working in a hybrid model between the office, home and our programs across the country to support flexibility, ideally based from Queensland.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the General Manager Paralympic Program, the principal duties of this role include:

- Shape the values and behaviours of athlete centred performance environments, that provides continuous and progressive accountability to win when it matters the most.
- Establish and articulate data-informed performance standards and technical direction that ensures repeatable, sustainable success at the highest international level.
- Provide technical leadership to the Paralympic Pathways Manager to support the development of pathway athletes and coaches tracking towards benchmark event (BME) selection standards.
- Build capability in the para swimming environment through the delivery of a holistic coach development program including education, career, and personal development. Define and articulate What It Takes To Win (WITTW) for future podium performances across all Paralympic Classes. Work with program coaches to influence and shape the annual and quadrennial campaign strategy and execution plan.
- Develop and implement national team BME selection criteria and processes that maximises medal return across classes and events.

**About you**:
What you will bring to the role:

- A minimum of 10 years experience elite swimming environment of equivalent
- Significant experience in leading the development, implementation, and delivery of coaching and technical guidance to a group of emerging and elite coaches
- Demonstrated knowledge of international high-performance best practice, including awareness of development trends in coaching technique, skills development program growth and long-term holistic development
- Experience and skilled in developing strong relationships; influencing and motivating staff and key stakeholders
- A willingness to work irregular hours (including weekends) and to travel extensively within Australia and overseas (within the employees ‘right to disconnect’ arrangements)
- Able to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters ongoing mutual respect and trust

Essential Requirements
- Relevant Coaching Accreditation
- Accredited Swimming Coach
- National Police / Criminal History Check
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check

Desirable Criteria
- Human Movement / Coaching / Exercise / Sports Science Degree
