Kitchen Hand

Midnight Hotel is currently seeking **Casual Kitchen Hands**to join our team

The role is responsible for providing assistance to the Chefs and Cooks in kitchen operations as well as overall cleaning of dishes and equipment. As a Kitchen Hand a major part of your work involves **dishwashing, cleaning of the cooking utensils and kitchen equipment.**

**In order to secure the role, you need to have**:

- Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
- Ensure all items are cleaned efficiently and meet the hotel’s hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Wash and store clean dishes, cutlery, glassware, and cooking tools in appropriate places.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including floors, counters, walls, and trash bins.
- Empty and clean trash bins and dispose of waste in accordance with hotel policies.
- Follow proper safety and hygiene protocols as outlined by the hotel and health regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues or breakages in equipment promptly.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Fast-paced environment
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with additional duties as required during peak hours.
- Basic understanding of frying simple food items, making salads and sandwiches.
- Minimum 6 months experience as a kitchen hand.
- Ability to clean food preparation equipment, tables, counters and other work areas.
- Ability to check food items and make sure quality standards are met at all times.
- Keep the work environment very clean and safe
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Ability to work autonomously without Supervision.

This role will be undertaken across a 7-day rotating roster with shifts starting at the following times:

- Predominantly Breakfast shifts
- May include other shifts including some dinner shifts

Availability to work on Monday and Tuesday’s is a key requirement, with additional availability across the remaining days of the week highly regarded.
