Brisbane, Australia Transport and Main Roads Full time

As a Principal Advisor you will represent the General Manager (LTSR) and liaise, negotiate and communicate with other government agencies, clients, staff, stakeholders and interest groups to ensure complex organisational issues are resolved effectively and efficiently on behalf of LTSR and the department.

**Accountabilities include**:
Provide strategic and authoritative advice to the General Manager (LTSR) and the branch leadership team
- Research and identify significant issues and initiate prioritised and timely action to respond to the issues
- Research and write and/or review complex reports, briefing notes, submissions, departmental and other correspondence
- Develop and maintain effective networks, and consult and negotiate with stakeholders.
- Deliver presentations and report on performance to the Branch Management Team and represent LTSR or the department at forums.
- Monitor major projects, as directed by the General Manager in relation to activities of the branch and new initiatives and manage the operations of the Office of the General Manager ensuring that office procedures and systems are efficient, priorities are met and deadlines achieved, progress against business and/or project plans for the Branch, and report on performance against business, financial and/or human resources objectives to the General Manager (LTSR) and the Branch Management Team.
- Promote and ensure compliance of work or project teams with public sector legislation, standards, policies, practices and procedures.
