About the role

You will be responsible for managing and leading small teams of planning professionals in preparing strategies, policies and precinct plans to achieve the Council’s vision and strategic outcomes. You will also be responsible for assessing and processing planning proposals (Local Environmental Plans), Development Control Plans, Development Contribution Plans and negotiating planning agreements.

Due to internal re-organisation, promotions and development opportunities, we have multiple Team Leader roles available in our City Planning and Design Directorate including permanent and temporary positions.

About You

You are degree qualified in town planning or equivalent and considerable experience in statutory and/or strategic land use planning.

**You have proven experience in the following**:
Achieving strategic objectives with demonstrated success in working with or for the public sector

Leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams and delivering services to a high standard to meet financial and other business performance criteria

To be successful in the role you will need to understand project management processes, along with a strong understanding of development contributions and planning agreements.

You will have an exceptional ability to communicate, negotiate, build relationships and influence others with an engaging approach and technique. Along with advanced problem solving and decision-making ability, including confidence in working with leaders to resolve high priority, and often sensitive and complex issues.
