An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal to join Marsh in Melbourne. Working within the FINPRO team, you will be responsible for the growth, profitability, and client satisfaction of a book of business containing large and complex accounts. This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor, pursuing new business opportunities, and expanding and diversifying the range of Marsh products and services the client holds.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Maintaining and growing personal relationships and a book of business, contributing to team sales targets
- Conducting research and analysis to understand client needs and business drivers, as well as core team accounts, to maintain a comprehensive portfolio overview
- Executing renewal and placement strategies in collaboration with the Placement, Advisory Leader, and Client Executive, in accordance with client instructions
- Assisting in presentations to prospective clients and developing innovative solutions to secure new business and projects
- Identifying opportunities for account expansion by leveraging internal service offerings, market trends, and the business standing of specific accounts
- Defining strategies for custom solution development within designated mid-market or small geographic segments, including sales targets, compensation, and pricing expectations
- Participating in industry events, conferences, and client functions to build a strong professional network, stay close to market developments, and represent Marsh and its solutions

**What we’re looking for**:

- 5+ years of experience within a commercial insurance environment
- An active insurance broker’s license
- Strong business acumen, including a well-rounded understanding of general business functions, finance, and industry issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and consistently meet deadlines

**What will make you stand out?**
- 7+ years of experience in insurance broking
- A solid understanding of business and organizational risk management
- Prior experience managing a portfolio of complex accounts
- In-depth knowledge of insurance and strategic client engagement
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Tier 1 FSRA compliance is essential; a tertiary qualification will be highly regarded but is not mandatory
