Snowy Hydro is currently recruiting for our 4 year Communications and Networks Apprenticeship Program based in Cooma, NSW. Our apprentices are trained in all the skills required to design, install, configure and maintain a multitude of telecommunications systems and solutions including microwave radios, land mobile radio systems, fibre optic infrastructure, DC power systems (on & off grid) and various network devices eg. switches & routers. You will gather a variety of experiences as you become involved in all aspects of design, procurement, planning and site works.
You will be part of a nine day fortnight roster that includes an RDO every second Friday. Your standard hours of work will be from 0745 to 1630. Additional overtime will be required from time to time.
To be considered for this apprenticeship program you will have:
A genuine interest in the communications and technology industry

Excellent safety awareness

Hands on approach to enjoy technical work

Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team

Curiosity and enthusiasm to work and learn

Key strengths such as listening skills and the ability to problem solve

Willing to work in remote locations and travel locally and interstate when required

Ability to work at heights

Completed year 12 or equivalent qualification

“C” class manual drivers licence (provisional licence is acceptable)
