**Your new role**

In your role as Trade Assistant, you will perform all trade assistant related tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and equipment. Assist in maintenance and storeroom tasks as required.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Assist in managing tools and equipment within the Supply Customer Account/s on the Commonwealth Mandated Information System and on Asset Registers.
- Conducting maintenance tasks within the applicable competencies, under the supervision of a tradesperson.
- Contributing to collaborative innovation by identifying continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operating plant and machinery provided by the Commonwealth to perform maintenance tasks as required.
- Performing additional work-related responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader, such as first aid attendant, HSE committee representative, unit fire team representative, and/or member of a business improvement team.
- Operate plant and equipment where qualified and licenced.
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Perform manual tasks associated with maintenance and construction as required, including safe working duties.
- Undertake, as instructed by your Team Leader, other tasks which may be incidental & peripheral to your trade**.**

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience in technical related work, preferably part qualified in a Certificate of trade Proficiency, relevant to the trade environment.
- Demonstrated experience in manual handling.
- Possess a current Australian State or territory class C Driver's Licence.
- Possess a current State open drivers' licence for medium Rigid (MR) classes of vehicles.
- Possess a current Forklift Licence or ability to obtain prior to placement.
