An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse within the Specialist Palliative Care Service who will lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level. Dove Palliative Care Unit is a purpose built fourteen bed unit situated at the Caloundra Health Service facility. The ward provides specialist inpatient care and support for people suffering with a life limiting illness and their families and caregivers.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

**Key Responsibilities include**:
Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being understand to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Dove Palliative Care Unit is a purpose built fourteen bed unit situated at the Caloundra Health Service facility. The ward provides specialist inpatient care and support for people suffering with a life limiting illness and their families and caregivers. Patients are usually admitted to Dove for short periods to enable pain and symptom control and for specialist care during the last days of life. The primary goal of care and treatment is to optimise quality of life. The highly skilled specialist multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, allied health, administration and volunteer staff focus on providing exceptional, person-centred palliative care that meets the end-of-life goals and wishes of the patient and their loved ones.
