What is the role?

As an Assistant Corporate Business Partner (CBP), you lead a number of functional corporate teams, consisting of skilled and agile multi-discipline professionals to deliver Command-specific corporate services.
You report to and work under the broad direction of both the CBP and Command Senior Executives. You will be responsible for driving, implementing and delivering corporate strategy, policies and practices in support of the AFP and Command objectives based on high level decision-making and judgement. You have the capacity to think strategically and possess AFP and Command specific strategic awareness and business acumen. You work in close collaboration with the CBP, CCSU Team Leaders and corporate centres of excellence to manage risks, operationalise strategic direction and develop an agile approach to deliver corporate enabling services to meet the needs of the Command/s.
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
As an Assistant CBP, you are responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a CCSU, and effectively and efficiently managing resources to meet the unique corporate challenges and priorities of the Command.
**Your responsibilities may include the following**:
Working closely with the Corporate Business Partner to support the leadership of CCSU functional Team Leaders, positioning them to achieve the strategic direction of the AFP and Command CCSU;
Leading and mentoring CCSU Team Leaders to drive high standards of team performance, supported through clear direction, goal setting, health and wellbeing of individuals, and career development;
Modelling critical behaviours to promote a workplace culture that aligns with AFP strategy, Core Values and the AFP Core Leadership Continuum;
Operationalising the corporate services strategic direction of the CCSU, including ensuring Command Business Plan key deliverables and priorities are met;
Reviewing, drafting and presenting corporate service delivery reports and executive papers to the Corporate Business Partner, AFP Senior Executives and strategic governance committees;
Working closely with the Corporate Business Partner to manage CCSU operations, including making informed strategic business decisions relating to budget, priorities, governance, issues and risks, and resource management; ensuring mínimal impact and pressure on the Command and the broader corporate operating model;
Maintaining regular engagement with national teams to ensure alignment of work practices and procedures with up to date policy and governance frameworks;
Establishing and maintaining an informal leader’s network to embed a customer-centric culture and support newly appointed leaders; and
Building trusted and valued partnerships with the Command’s seni
