At ING Australia, you will have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture, and technology to become the best version of you. We are counting on your unique voice and perspective to help ING Australia become even better.
As a member of the HR Senior Leadership team and reporting directly to ING Australia’s HRD (with global functional lines), we are looking for an experienced Head of Performance and Reward to lead a small, specialist team shaping / implementing performance and reward as well as our advanced compensation model across ING Australia. The team includes SMEs in P&R Consulting, International Mobility, HR Data / Analytics and related regulations on remuneration (FAR, CPS511).
This is a high-impact HR Lead role where you’ll build P&R capability that drives ING’s success — today and into the future. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you and your team help align individual goals with business strategy, ensuring our people are recognised, motivated, and rewarded in meaningful ways. You’ll be involved in both global and local initiatives, working closely with the HR Leadership Team, the global Performance & Reward Community of Expertise (COE), Executive Committee (ExCo) and leaders across the business. Your work will directly influence employee engagement, talent attraction, retention, and our regulatory compliance.
What you’ll do
Drive ING’s total rewards strategy to support cultural and strategic goals.
Lead the annual remuneration review process and pay-for-performance structure.
Provide expert advice on salary benchmarking, market analysis, job design, and variable remuneration programs.
Prepare and present board and Exco papers on remuneration and regulatory matters.
Ensure compliance with FAR and CPS511 obligations.
Embed a pay-for-performance culture aligned to the global Step Up PM framework.
Develop and communicate local policies and procedures aligned with global frameworks.
Lead HR dashboard development and data-driven people metrics initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR COEs and business leaders.
Influence global remuneration practices through thought leadership.
Provide advice on international mobility aligned with global governance and local requirements.
What we’re looking for
Proven experience in performance and reward leadership within Financial Services
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks including FAR and CPS511.
Experience presenting to Executive Committees and Board.
Ability to translate complexity into clear insights and actions.
Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Passion for mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
Commercial mindset.
Experience with HR systems and data analytics tools.
Ability to thrive in both local and global environments.
What’s in it for you?
Discounted ING Health Insurance.
An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing.
An IMPACT day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity.
Exposure to senior HR leadership and cross-functional initiatives.
A role with both strategic influence and operational ownership
