**The Opportunity**

Join the dedicated team at the Islamic College of Brisbane as the**Secondary Dean of Students**. This is a full-time role based in Karawatha, where you will play a key part in shaping the learning environment and supporting the overall development of secondary school students.

**Selection Criteria**
- Relevant teaching qualification and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- Significant experience in a secondary school environment, with a proven track record in student welfare and behaviour management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to engage and collaborate effectively with people from various backgrounds and roles.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people and a commitment to the Islamic values and ethos of the college.
- Establish and maintain an inclusive, safe, and positive school culture.
- Provide individualised support and mentoring to students, addressing any behavioural, social, or emotional needs.
- Develop and implement effective student management and wellbeing strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader school community.
- Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and coordinate interventions as needed.
- Promote student leadership and facilitate extracurricular activities.
- Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the secondary school.

The Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, independent growing school, located on the southern outskirts of Brisbane in the suburb of Karawatha located in the South East Queensland region.
