**Heart of the role**
As a key member of our Marketing & Content team, you will experience interesting and challenging work. As Australia's largest online appliance retailer, Appliances Online, is a trusted retailer for millions of Australians.

We're looking for an experienced editor to run our in-house newsroom and direct the editorial strategy for the business.As the editor, you will grow our digital audience by creating compelling home and lifestyle journalism and harnessing key audience levers.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Lead the development of original and engaging news editorial and video content for use on-site, social and across eDM programs
- Lead the ideation of major topic articles and collaborate with data analysts to shape compelling narratives that establish Appliances Online and Andoo has experts for those topics
- Work closely with performance marketing team to establish and scale SEO best practices across the content team
- Commission stories through a range of internal and external contributors with an eye of improving SEO traffic and cultivating Appliances Online has an authority in the appliance and retail space
- Write and sub-edit relevant news stories and ensure content is timely, accurate and balanced
- Drive regular editorial ideation sessions to maintain the flow of compelling content
- Use analytics and SEO tools to measure content performance and conduct topical and trending research

**Key Skills & Experience**
- Strong writing skills are a must
- Editorial experience in digital content production and journalism (preferably in the e-commerce and/or retail space) would be an asset
- Demonstrated experience growing digital audiences through innovative storytelling, SEO, eDM, social media and omnichannel marketing
- Demonstrated experience crafting engaging digital data stories and using data visualisations
- Strong relationship building skills, including influencing, negotiating & leadership
- A creative, innovative and positive thinker
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to make data-driven decisions around trending topics and keywords
- Experience with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Fullstory) would be a plus
