**Disability Support Worker**

Hope and Care is a registered NDIS provider servicing Sydney Inner West & Outer and the greater Southwest region.

With our continued growth, we are seeking for casual Disability Support Workers (DSW) to join our team immediately. You will be working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

As a DSW, you will be looking to build a person's capacity and support them to achieve their goals by using their preferred communication methods and you will work within a team environment to promote our participants’ dignity, independence, and rights.

**Some tasks required**:

- Driving participants out for community access such as Dr appointments, shopping, or skill development activities
- Providing support to our participants with complex and/or high behavioural support needs to complete daily living tasks
- Provide personal care such as grooming, toileting, dressing, and/or showering which involves manual handling

**To be a successful, you must be able to meet the following**:

- Shifts range from Monday to Sunday
- Flexible hours available
- Rotating roster, including - morning, afternoon, nights, and weekend shifts
- Hoisting and Personal Care preferred
- Valid Australian Drivers’ Licence
- Current CPR (1 year) & First Aid (3 years) Certificate
- Working with Children Check
- Police Check
- Relevant Qualifications including Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support Certificate. If you do not have one of the 2 Certificates, Hope and Care can register you to start the course and work at the same time
- Rate ranges upon experience
- You have a working understanding of person-centred approach
- Be comfortable supporting adult clients with intellectual/physical disabilities or mental health diagnoses
- To uphold the confidentiality and personal boundaries of the participants
- To uphold choice and control and ensure rights of clients are always maintained

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $30.95 - $40.00 per hour
