**About the Role**

The Media Manger oversees all media matters relating to the Supreme Court of NSW, Land & Environment Court & NSW Industrial Relations Commission. They are also responsible for:

- Developing & implementing best practice communication strategies
- Increasing public & media awareness of the functions of the court
- Be the principal point of contact for all media matters
- Ensuring that confidentiality & the integrity of the court is upheld effectively
- Ensuring that accurate and timely information is given to authorised media representatives
- Providing expert specialist advice and assistance to the Chief Justice, heads of jurisdiction, judges, and other key internal stakeholders
- Establishing & maintaining a network of relevant relationships including media organisations & other various internal & external stakeholders

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

- Extensive experience/tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations and/or the legal industry
- Sound understanding of relevant legal legislations, polices & ability to interpret legal terminology
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with internal & external stakeholder effectively
- Ability to interpret & prepare complex correspondence including legal documentation
- High level organisational and time management skills with an ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, demonstrate flexibility, and show initiative.
- Intermediate computer skills including the ability to utilise the Microsoft Office package along with various other computer software programs
- This recruitment may also create a talent pool to fill future ongoing and temporary full-time vacancies (over the next 18 months) if and when they arise in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013._

Each specialty list administered within the court has procedures determined by Rules of the Court. Appeals from the District Court and various other courts and tribunals are taken to the Supreme Court.
