An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council as Project Officer, Ancestral Remains Unit (ARU) to contribute to the ground-breaking work in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.
The responsibilities of the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council include registering, monitoring and supporting Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAPs) to exercise cultural heritage responsibilities in their local areas as well as the management of Aboriginal Ancestral Remains and Secret and Sacred Objects.
As the Project Officer, Ancestral Remains Unit (ARU) you will undertake research, stakeholder engagement, preparation of reports and support materials and preparation of Ancestral Remains for repatriation.
Please note, a current Victorian driver's licence is a mandatory requirement for this role.

- Excellent understanding of Aboriginal cultural heritage

- Proven ability to undertake tasks and duties effectively and efficiently with mínimal supervision
