
Area Sales Manager

Job Summary/Objective
Develops and drives strategic alliances/integrations/programs with key buy-side and sell-side targets to accelerate growth of specific KPIs that measure the adoption of existing OEC Mechanical & Trade products & services.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Business development with distribution partners, for example wholesaler outlets, BMW and MINI dealers, etc.
- Implementation of national sales and marketing activities in the respective area
- Prepare action plans and counter activities to react to market changes and trends
- Generate ad-hoc sales push activities in coordination with the NSC in case market downturns or turnover decreases are detected
- Continuously collect and feedback market intelligence to the National Sales Manager in order to: Create awareness regarding competitors’ actions, campaigns, and promotions
- Monitor market development and market trends like changes in the competitive environment and new players in the market
- Optimize quality and service level of the distribution partners with regards to business with independent repairers
- Carry out health checks based on OEM quality standards and provide root cause analyses
- Develop and present action plans to dealer or other distribution partner senior management, detailing responsibilities, timelines and calculated sales growth
- Support the on boarding of new distribution partners
- Provide training to the personnel of the distribution partner
Education
An undergraduate degree (or international equivalent) from an accredited college or university with a focus in Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline. A post-graduate degree is preferred. In the absence of a degree, equivalent experience directly related to developing business alliances with management and executives in key markets is required.
Experience, Skills and Key Competencies
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the automotive parts industry, and/or business development/sales/national accounts track record working with large organizations
- Prior experience working in aftersales for an OEM, or in a high-growth technology company servicing complex industrial customers.
- Ability to develop, nurture, and maintain large account relationships requiring large account management and complex product management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Travel for this position is frequent; over 50% of work time
