About Highfields State Secondary College
We are Toowoomba's newest state education facility. Founded in January, 2015 with 262 Year 7 and 8 students, the college currently caters for students from Year 7 to Year 12. Highfields is located just a short 15 minute drive from the centre of Toowoomba and is the fastest growing inland area in Queensland, and one of the fastest growing areas within Australia. At Highfields State Secondary College our students are taught by highly-skilled and motivated specialist teaching staff. Our modern, state of the art facilities include Performing and Visual Art Centres, Science laboratories, specialised Industrial Technology and Hospitality areas, a spacious Resource Centre and fully air-conditioned classrooms.
About the Role
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

- Assist the Principal to lead the school community through the school special education program (SEP) to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
