National Maritime Team Leader

The National Maritime Team Leader is responsible for managing and developing a diverse group of engineers and support staff who are committed to delivering the best outcomes for our clients whilst playing a key role in supporting the National Maritime Industry Lead in winning Maritime projects across all markets.
This role will see you delivering large scale multi discipline maritime facilities for a variety of industries including; Defence, general cargo facilities, oil & gas and emerging markets (i.e. Hydrogen terminals).
**KBR is very well positioned to support the Department of Defence to deliver on the nuclear submarine infrastructure pipeline as part of the Government’s recent announcements.**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Leads and manages the national Maritime team, including supervision, training coordination and well-being leadership of personnel
- Performs leadership roles including Engineering Manager, Proposal Leader, Project Manager, as well as hands on Designer and Checker roles for bids and projects as required
- Collaborates with Project Managers to ensure that availability and resourcing of staff aligns with forecasted sales and secured projects.
- Working with our clients in key market sectors such as Defence to fully understand their requirements so we are able to deliver the right solution.
- Work with other key team members and other stakeholders delivering bids and tender responses
- Studies, designs, documentation and reporting on maritime and coastal engineering projects
- Preparation of expressions of interest and bids relating to maritime and coastal engineering
- Project and or Engineering management to ensure the delivery of outputs to a high standard
- Timeliness and budgetary expectations (including preparation of reports, drawings and calculations as required)
- Liaison with clients, statutory authorities and other consultants
- Coordinating and managing job teams on projects relating to maritime infrastructure and mentoring junior team members

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Experience in the design, evaluation and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works and marine structures
- Professional experience in the assessment, analysis, design and remediation of maritime structures (wharves, jetties, port developments, marinas, seawalls, pontoons etc)
- Solid experience working with the Defence sector and a deep understanding of how the defence sector manages projects (preferred)
- Demonstrated skills in providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff to enhance their skills and capability
- Familiarity with maritime (Australian or other) design codes and guidelines in Australia and Asia
- Capability and experience in using structural/maritime analysis software (desirable skillset: SPACE GASS, Strand 7, OPTIMOOR)
- Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
- RPEQ accreditation or similar Australian Professional Engineering Accreditation that will allow to obtain RPEQ accreditation in Queensland within agreed timeframe
