In Australia, WSP’s growth is being fueled by unprecedented investment in infrastructure including roads and highways, bridges, railways, vertical transportation, over station developments and more. We work alongside clients to deliver the country’s transformational projects including WestConnex in Sydney, Melbourne Metro, Kangaroo Point Green Bridge in Brisbane, Inland Rail, Southern Program Alliance in Melbourne, Westport in WA and the Causeway Bridge in WA.

Besides being engaged in most of the major transport projects across Australia, WSP has taken on a leadership role in some the most challenging changes in our industry; digital transformation, Hybrid working environment and Decarbonization of our designs. Our QLD BMS team needs a leader who will embrace these challenges and grow a team that can deliver real world solutions on what may seem like a blank sheet of paper.

To make this happen, the BMS RE needs to also be focused on understanding clients and delivery partners. We start with our clients at the center of our services and align our teams with clients and partners who share our values.

**About the Role**

In this position, you will report directly to WSP’s Director for Bridges Maritime and Structures. The Regional Executive, Bridges Maritime and Structures will provide leadership for a growing regional team of engineers and technicians supporting projects that include bridges, underground structures for tunnel systems and maritime projects. This is done via various teaming structures including Alliances and Design & Construct teams, so experience and an understanding of these procurement methods is important. The position will share P&L responsibility with the collective, national BMS team and, as a key member of the Regional Leadership Team, the BMS Regional Executive will have a significant influence on client relationships as well as the future growth and prosperity of the business.

**What you’ll do**:

- Take care of a team of about 35 structural engineers, technicians and project managers.
- Work in collaboration with the other Regional Executives across Australia, supporting the team in delivery of transport projects across QLD. The BMS team operates as a National group of about 250, sharing and collaborating with other WSP staff in Australia and globally.
- Foster a team culture that is focused on maintaining a healthy work environment,
- Grow our expertise in digital delivery
- Be focused on developing designs that can meet the challenges of the NetZero commitments WSP has made to the industry and society.
- Develop a team that can collaborate with delivery partners
- Develop strategy for a resilient and productive group
- Manage work winning/delivery and associated resourcing requirements for small, medium and large-scale services and projects
- Support projects as Project Director, Project Manager or in technical advisory roles.
- Support business growth for WSP in QLD including achieving agreed funding, revenue and operating margin goals

**About you**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; advanced related degrees a plus
- Leadership Experience
- Ability to work with clients, pursue projects, develop bids
- Business management, project management and/or business acumen
- Ideally at least 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Bridge engineering and design, Transport Structure (tunnels) Engineering and/or Maritime design and engineering and general knowledge of those disciplines and their interactions.
- Demonstrated competence in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high-profile projects.
- Competent in developing cost-effective and appropriate solutions that meet the needs of both public and/or private-sector clients.
- Competent in managing risk on substantial projects.
- Competent monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
- Prepares and reviews high level and complex technical reports.
- Experience in complex proposals and pursuits.
- Demonstrated competence in complying with applicable legislation, standards, guidelines and project specifications.
