**The Role**
The Aeronautical Life Support (ALSE) Capability Planning Lead is responsible for leading the ALSE Capability Planning Team to identify, translate, prioritise and programmatically manage the Aircrew Life Support Equipment (ALSE) needs of our 19 aviation platform customers.
Working with Headquarters Air Command, Joint Force aviation stakeholders (Army, Navy and Air Force) and the Deputy Director Aircrew Life Support Management Unit (ALSMU), the position seeks to establish and support the delivery of the 10 year ALSE Capability Roadmap.
The position is involved in complex strategy development, financial planning, stakeholder liaison and industry engagement activities. The position also requires an appreciation of technical and project acumen, to support the translation of customer needs and priorities into funded acquisition activities for delivery by the ALSMU and industry Through Life Support (TLS) partner.
The current advertised vacancy is located in Edinburgh SA. However, remote work arrangements located out of Defence bases in Canberra, ACT or Williamtown, NSW may be considered for the successful applicants. A merit list will also be created during this recruitment process for any future vacancies in either SA, ACT and NSW.
Additionally, site visits to aviation maintenance and operating units will be required involving domestic and possible international travel.
**About our Team**
Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) - including the P-8A Poseidon. SRSPO also acquires and supports common Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) used on air vehicles operated by the RAAF, Navy and Army. We also support the MQ-4C Triton, a new remotely piloted high altitude long endurance aircraft system.
At SRSPO we are passionate about working collaboratively with our stakeholders and industry partners to ensure the necessary acquisition, sustainment and regulatory requirements are fulfilled. We do this to support the war fighter and achieve the Department of Defence’s strategic and operational objectives.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in effectively managing a range of stakeholders.
You will use this to develop and maintain effective relationships with our Industry Partner, ADF customers and support agencies to gain timely understanding of customer needs and their translation into capability requirements.
You will be self-motivated, well-organised and can manage various activities simultaneously and ensure business objectives and agreed deadlines are met.

A capacity to understand ALSE capabilities and technical activities and to leverage the complex advice and expertise of Technical specialists is also necessary.
