**Job Description**:
Reporting directly to and working collaboratively with the Director of Sales & Marketing, this is an exciting opportunity to join a driven Sales & Marketing team at Mercure Gold Coast Resort, Mercure Gold Coast Resort is an oasis located amongst expansive gardens on the Gold Coast

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:

- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients to ensure overall satisfaction when planning and delivering their conference/event
- Coordinate and host site inspections and pre-con meetings with the client
- You will manage your clients MICE event from ‘start to finish’ including the preparation of the Banquet Event Orders, menus, floor plans, billing and invoicing
- Lead & collaborate with Banquet Operations, Kitchen, Front Office, AV and Group Reservations department to execute the delivery of your event
- Ensure we succeed in delivering customer events in order to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business
- Drive upselling and add on sales to heighten the client experience and seek additional revenue for the business
- Drive ALL Meeting Planner Loyalty

**Qualifications**:
**YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the hospitality, event, banquets or travel industry
- A great team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, who proactively looks to assist where possible
- Organised with a strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate a number of events simultaneously
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to easily build rapport with internal and external clients
- A ‘quick thinker’ with excellent problem solving skills and ability to ‘think on your feet’
- Experience using Opera PMS & Opera Sales & Catering operating systems highly regarded
- Flexibility to working days/hours to suit client requirements (some weekend work may be required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite - Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
