Our client can deliver expert employment advice and services, provide and manage apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities, and runs nationally accredited courses and workplace-based training across various popular industries.

**The Role**
As the General Manager - Training is to lead and direct the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) operations to achieve optimum growth and profitability through the effective use of business assets and human resources while maintaining the highest quality and compliance.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager - Training is responsible for ensuring the development of delivery and best practice of people and culture strategies that maximise individual and overall business capabilities and capacity in the RTO.

The General Manager - Training will also have site-based responsibilities regarding teams, people leadership, business relationships and overall operations and asset management.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Direct policy, strategy, objectives and operations of the RTO and business more broadly to achieve company objectives.
- Provide quality leadership, timely information, intelligence and advice to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board on matters relating to RTO operations and management.
- Ensure governance, contract management, compliance, and organisational management is of a high standard.
- Provide leadership to the RTO to ensure consistent compliance and administration procedures across the RTO, ensuring continuous improvement by implementing new policies and procedures as required.
- Monitor and evaluate performance across the RTO, promptly addressing any deficiencies to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Ensure compliance with ASQA, VRQA (including non-school senior secondary provider (NSSSP) programs) and HESG funding standards and guidelines.
- Manage risk by coordinating internal and external audits to ensure delivery is in accordance with ASQA and VRQA requirements, contractual obligations and the company risk management and quality frameworks.
- Take responsibility for addressing any rectifications required, ensuring implementation in a timely manner.
- Ensure the implementation and maintenance of risk management (including OH&S) processes and structures in accordance with the Risk Management and Child Safe Standards to ensure the safety of all staff, students and other stakeholders.
- Create an environment where risk management is accepted as the personal responsibility of all employees and contractors.
- Ensure high-level oversight of the RTO's Student Management and Learning Management systems.
- Foster positive relationships with industry and government agencies.

**Key Selection Criteria**

**Experience**
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role within an RTO, TAFE or other Education Provider
- Min 5 years of proven experience in managing and executing corporate strategy
- Demonstrated experience in leading and maintaining a positive workplace culture and high performing teams
- Knowledge of the Australian VET sector
- Knowledge of Training and Assessment processes
- Knowledge of marketing and sales
- Knowledge of Student Management and Learning Management Systems
- Experience in developing business and customer relationships.
- Experience in change management and Experience in implementing projects successfully

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Management and/or Education (highly desirable)
- Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (desirable)
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Employee Working with Children Check or a Victorian Institute of Teaching licence
- Australian Federal Police Check or a Victorian Institute of Teaching licence
