**The Position**

**St John of God Bendigo Hospital **is a private hospital located in central Victoria. St John of God Health Care acquired Mt Alvernia Mercy Hospital in February 2005, renaming it St John of God Bendigo Hospital. The private hospital services the City of Bendigo and Central Victoria.
- We are currently seeking experienced
- **Environmental Service Assistants** to support nursing staff by caring for patients’ personal needs and housekeeping duties within the unit or the wider hospital as required.

- Demonstrated ability to operate all industrial cleaning equipment
- Basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, infection control, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide high-level customer service.
- Ability to use initiative, demonstrate reliability and thereby require mínimal supervision or guidance.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work and demonstrate good organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to work extra shifts or different shifts if required.

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : Demonstrated ability to operate all industrial cleaning equipment
- Essential : Basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, infection control, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements.
- Essential : Ability to work extra shifts or different shifts if required.
- Desirable : Hospital based cleaning experience
