Maintenance Staff

**Position Summary**

**Assistant** - Provides janitorial services and general maintenance of warehouse and surrounding grounds. Restocks supplies. Operates rubbish compactor and cardboard baler. Periodically paints and performs routine maintenance throughout the warehouse. Purchases supplies needed for projects. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards. Provides prompt and courteous member service.

**Skilled Handyperson** - Builds and repairs fixtures, structures and equipment in the warehouse. Repairs plumbing and electrical systems. Provides janitorial and general maintenance of warehouse and grounds. Purchases supplies and parts for repair jobs. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards. Provides prompt and courteous member service.

**Supervisor** - Builds, repairs fixtures, structures & equipment in the warehouse. Repairs plumbing & electrical systems while providing janitorial & general maintenance of warehouse and grounds. Purchases supplies & parts for repair jobs. Follows proper safety, security procedures & standards. Liaises with the Assistant Warehouse Manager in maintaining an expense control on the warehouse facilities, equipment & day-to-day upkeep/maintenance. Constructs & manages a preventative maintenance schedule on all facility & all equipment. Provides prompt and courteous member service.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**

**Assistant**:

- Cleans warehouse floors, offices, break rooms, and restrooms
- Follows departmental standards for cleanliness and performance of duties
- Restocks supplies
- Empties rubbish from designated areas throughout the warehouse
- Pulls merchandise slip sheets and loose cardboard from sales floor
- Operates garbage compactor and cardboard baler
- Checks daily schedule for assigned routine tasks and maintenance repair jobs
- Paints, replaces bulbs, maintains equipment, and performs routine repairs throughout the warehouse
- Assists with installing and repairing building displays and fixtures
- Purchases supplies and parts needed for projects
- Maintains grounds outside warehouse including blowing leaves, picking up litter and building maintenance
- Follows proper Maintenance and general safety and security procedures, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler and product disposal
- Responds quickly to and cleans up spills
- Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors

- Measures, cuts, affixes, shapes, sands, and paints various materials
- Purchases supplies and parts for maintenance and repair jobs
- Repairs plumbing problems, installs and maintains plumbing fixtures
- If licensed, repairs electrical systems, installs and replaces defective switches, wiring and fixtures
- Participates in janitorial duties
- Follows departmental standards for cleanliness and performance of duties
- Responds quickly to clean up spills
- Cleans and maintains grounds and building, performs roof checks
- Checks daily schedule for assigned tasks, construction, maintenance and repair jobs
- Follows proper Maintenance and general safety and security procedures, such as tagging power access when working on electrical equipment, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler, and merchandise disposal
- Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors

**Supervisor**:

- Performs routine maintenance and repairs for warehouse
- Builds and repairs fixtures, structures and displays. Measures, cuts, affixes, shapes, sands, and paints various materials. Purchases supplies and parts for maintenance and repair jobs
- Repairs plumbing problems, installs and maintains plumbing fixtures. If licensed repairs electrical systems, installs and replaces defective switches, wiring and fixtures
- Participates in janitorial duties
- Follows department standards for cleanliness and performance of duties
- Responds quickly to clean up spills
- Cleans and maintains grounds and building, performs roof checks
- Checks daily schedule for assigned tasks, construction, and maintenance and repair jobs
- Drafts and participates in presentation of performance reviews. Interviews prospective employees and makes recommendations to managers for further interviews
- Observes employee performance and paperwork to determine that proper department procedures are followed. Provides training, encouragement, advice and feedback to Maintenance employees
- Follows proper Maintenance and general safety and security procedure, such as tagging power access when working on electrical equipment, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler, and merchandise disposal
- Liaise with Assistant Warehouse Manager in maintaining expense control on the wareho
