The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world - the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is more than just a stadium, it’s an Australian icon and a meeting place for generations past, present and future. The MCG is host to more than 70 major events and attracts over four million visitors annually. The MCC is the largest sporting club in the country with over 155,000 members and also manages 13 sporting sections with participation over 2,600. The Australian Sports Museum (ASM) has its home at the MCG, celebrating the country’s rich sporting history, which is also managed by the MCC.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, People and Culture, you will have exposure to a broad range of tasks. Over a typical week, you may:

- Partner with the business to develop a deep understanding of their respective needs, identifying areas of alignment, encouraging cross-functional collaboration for the purpose of advancing organisational capability, delivering our strategy, and elevating our Employee Value Proposition
- Proactively work on the development and implementation of staff engagement initiatives contributing to a positive work environment
- Manage recruitment of permanent roles including writing of advertisements, interviewing and contract negotiation
- Provide professional advice and guidance to managers on the interpretation of legislation, awards and agreements
- Support the P&C yearly cycle including goal setting and supporting Line Managers with the performance review process
- Work closely with the Diversity and Inclusion Lead to deliver D&I strategic initiatives related to development and business partnering
- Remove complexity, improve efficiency, and create operational consistency and alignment across our business including capability frameworks, capability uplift programs and development of diagnostic tools
- Day to day management of Workcover across the business including Return to Work
- Support the P&C Systems Implementation Lead, GM, P&C and Executive Manager People & Culture with the roll out and implementation of a new HRIS system

If we asked those that know you, they would say you are service oriented, approachable, open minded and empathetic. You will have the ability to implement strategy, whilst understanding the bigger picture, can quickly build rapport, question with curiosity and be able to discreetly manage confidential and sensitive information.

It is essential that you have:

- Relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification in HR or related discipline (desired) or equivalent experience

Preferable
- Demonstrated experience managing organisational capability in a complex environment
