The Autism Centre of Excellence is a multi-disciplinary research centre within Griffith University. All of our teaching, research and community collaborations have the aim of enhancing the quality of life for autistic people and those that support them. Whilst this position is within Griffith University, it is part of a broader collaboration with autistic and non-autistic researchers as well as community organisations from Australia.

**Job Description**:
The Research Fellow position involves contributing to a project on autistic children’s mental health and well-being within the Autism Centre of Excellence that is being run in collaboration with Macquarie University, Reframing Autism, Children’s Health Queensland, Giant Steps and STEPS. This project specifically focuses upon understanding and enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of young autistic children (aged 8 and under).

The focus of the role will initial be on gathering information from young autistic people to find out what influences their quality of life. This will be combined with interview data from autistic adults and parents of autistic children (already collected) to work with our community partners to co-develop the parent intervention. The research fellow will be leading the co-development process with input from the study team. The second year of the role will require the research fellow to lead a feasibility trial of the co-developed intervention.

The Research Fellow will work within the Director of the Autism Centre of Excellence, Professor Dawn Adams. Professor Adams is a Clinical Psychologist and academic, with a program of work focussing on mental health and wellbeing in autism. The Research Fellow will also work with other team members, collaborators and partners which includes autistic researchers and autistic-led organisations.

This is a full-time, fixed term (2 years) position based at the Griffith University Logan campus. However, a fractional (part-time) appointment with flexible working may be negotiated e.g. job-share arrangement. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

**Salary Range**
The base salary for a Research Fellow (Grade 1) is in the range $82,359 - $96,473 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $96,360 - $112,873 per annum.
