**The Role**
The Program Engagement team is seeking several APS6 Program Engagement Officers who will assist with strategic program engagement and related communication activities including liaison across the Division and department, partner agencies and external stakeholders to support the growth and expansion of the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme.

The PALM scheme brings low, semi and un-skilled workers from Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste to relieve labour shortages in Australia and contribute to sending countries’ development, while ensuring the safety and protection of PALM scheme workers.

Reporting to an Assistant Director, the Program Engagement Officer will assist in a range of strategic engagement and related communication activities to support the team to deliver PALM scheme engagement priorities, including providing strategic advice on stakeholder issues and risks.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities may include:

- Developing and supporting key relationships and associated administrative logistics with internal and external stakeholders.
- Writing engagement and activity plans including clearly defining the aim, audience and messaging for all engagement activities and related communications products.
- Contributing to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of engagement strategies.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement activities (internal and external) and outreach campaigns and through committees, forums and functions including:
o Contributing to event design, planning and management.

o Coordination of attendees and related meeting materials.

o In person and online support to events including logistics support.

o Maintaining updated calendar of events and registers.

o Secretariat duties as required.
- Developing briefings, talking points and presentations to support Executive and Ministerial engagement and communication activities.
- Managing the team’s incoming correspondence (mailbox management) and records.
- Following established processes and systems for activities while contributing to ongoing improvements in quality and effectiveness, including the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintaining knowledge of best practices and developments in event and stakeholder management.
