**Role Overview**:
As a Kitchen Hand at Lil Bird, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You’ll support the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting in the assembly of our signature dishes. We’re looking for someone who is quick on their feet, attentive to detail, and passionate about maintaining high food standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items, including salads, wraps, and sides.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Handle basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored.
- Assist in stock management, including receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Support the kitchen team during peak periods by working efficiently and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Follow instructions and recipes accurately to maintain Lil Bird’s food quality.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Certificate.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $22.74 - $31.98 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates
- Performance bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Wollongong, NSW 2500: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
