Warehouse and Technical Assistant

**Job Summary**:
Current ‘C’ class driver’s license
Immediate start

Completion of Year 10

To support the Engineering team with laboratory work, research and development trials, item numbers, product specification review, product inspection amongst other administrative matters in the department. To support the Warehouse Department with production and shipping or orders.

**Hours**: preferably 8 am to 4 pm, 30 min break

**QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SPECIALIST EXPERTISE (knowledge)**:

- Experience in assisting skilled or trade persons
- Completion of Year 10

**Basic skills in**:

- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy skills - Microsoft Office
- Use of CRM tools and ERP system
- Industrial Filtration knowledge would be advantageous
- Technical Textiles knowledge would be advantageous
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s license

**DUTIES**:

- Support of engineering team
- Support Engineering team to complete tasks in a timely efficient manner. These can be related to product costing, queries on product specifications and package information, specification checks, sample requests, follow up on sample deliveries & installation, issuing Certificate of Analysis or Compliance to Sales Orders, Item numbers maintenance in QAD, etc.
- Assist in maintaining the chemical register
- Assist with Customer Complaints via Laboratory Analysis and Product Inspections
- Perform filter Bags Laboratory analysis and operate equipment in SOLAFT’s Laboratory
- and maintain it in good order and in accordance with SOLAFT’s procedures and good practice, including:

- Preparation of Samples
- Cleaning of area and equipment after testing
- Request maintenance when required
- Populate master lab spreadsheet with data obtained from analysis. Have test data ready in a format agreed with engineer to expedite the report preparation
- Assist in updating trials and other engineering databases as discussed with engineering team
- Assist in organizing product samples for customers and sales team
- Operate R&D equipment including pilot dust collector and vertical test rig
- Occasional customer Site visits to follow up on trials, customer complaints or product installation

**Warehousing and Production**
- Receipt and Dispatch of goods to customers (internal and external) and use of all tools related to this task (Systems and equipment)
- Assist with production line to ensure goods are manufactured on time and to quality standards
- Identify and assist in implementing improvements
- Undertaking other reasonable tasks as requested by your supervisor
- Communication across team and organisation to build understanding and engagement.
