Air Conditioning Technician

We like to keep our staff happy and interested in their role and hence it will be a great mix of residential and commercial work including all aspects of HVAC and refrigeration: installs, servicing, breakdown repairs, fault-finding, diagnosing and problem solving.You will also be involved in supervising, training and mentoring our apprentice whilst fostering his skill development.

**The tasks you will be performing, but not limited to**:

- Following plans and specifications.
- Provide service and repairs to various types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. This will also include fault-finding and diagnosing.
- Preventative and responsive maintenance to air-conditioning, refrigeration and mechanical ventilation systems and equipment.
- Installing, repairing, or replacing parts such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, air filters, switches, controls and gauges. Including checking that parts are installed, lined up and fit properly.
- Installing and connecting piping to refrigeration systems.
- Testing systems for leaks and filling with refrigerant as per relevant standards and regulations.
- Managing minor projects.
- Contributing to condition assessments throughout the course of duties.
- Attending call-outs as per rostered requirements.
- Training and mentoring apprentices, whilst fostering their skill development.
- Using your great communication when liaising with property managers and owners to efficiently organise and perform site visits.
- Assisting with quoting by obtaining all relevant information required.
- Completing job notes and timesheets on a daily basis.
- Maintaining industry knowledge, monitoring market developments and keeping up-to-date with the latest changes and advances in HVAC.
- Complying with company and client HSEQ policies and procedures

**Qualifications and Licences required**:

- Trade qualified Refrigeration Mechanic with full servicing registrations
- Minimum 2+ years (post apprenticeship) of extensive experience in residential and large commercial HVAC and refrigeration
- Current Refrigeration Licence
- HVAC Trade Qualification with full ARC Licence
- Blue card
- Class C unrestricted drivers’ licence
- Current Gas Licence (B Class)
- Elevated Platform and Confined space clearances
- Current first aid certificate
