A pivotal role within the Finance & Investment Operations Group. Leading, effective and efficient management of the investment operations supporting the REST’s investment arrangements. Managing the middle office function, initially for the unlisted portfolios of Rest Investments and the operational risk associated with investment activities. Managing the unit pricing, custody and fund administration services provided by our external provider. Along with Regulatory reporting associated with the investment function including RG 97, portfolio holding disclosure, OTC derivatives and APRA reporting.
- Proactively contributing to the Finance & Investment Operations leadership teams’ activities.**Key responsibilities include**:

- Provide strategic leadership that fosters effective operational support for the Investment team ensuring that investment decision making is implemented appropriately and in an efficient and effective manner
- Lead business engagement, driving change and aligning Investment Operations with enterprise needs through strong relationship management particularly relationships with the CFO, CIO, senior investment leadership team, Finance and Audit Committee, Investment Committee and Executive Team (as required)
- Proactive and effective partnering with the Investments team to support them achieving their strategic outcomes
- Strategic management of the relationship between REST and its Custodian and other service providers as directed by CFO/CIO
- Accountable for investment reporting including investment analytics and data management service providers and identify strategic opportunities to improving the partnerships and services received by REST and review service levels.
- Delegate for the CFO/CIO at the REST Board, Investment Committee, Executive Team and other meetings as requested by the CFO/CIO
- On request by the CFO/CIO implement and manage product performance including regulatory, remuneration and multi-stakeholder reporting. Identify areas for continuous improvement through automation, enhanced reporting and analysis using available systems and tools and by engaging with REST’s partners
- Manage the middle office function, ensuring effective support of all financial processes related to the front office transactions and ensuring all deals negotiated during financial transactions are processed, booked and fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner
- Accountable for proactive trade lifecycle management support across all internally managed listed asset classes
- Collaborate closely with the Front office to ensure performance of the portfolios are calculated in an accurate and timely basis and working towards continuous improvement of the support provided to the Team.
- Optimise operational efficiency and capability of investment operations practices and processes that add value to the Investments team
- Ensure operational risk is managed by implementing, monitoring and reviewing the risks and risk controls for all activities undertaken by the Investment Operations Team and promoting a risk-aware culture
- Undertake governance related activities such as the review of operational delegations and preparation of relevant information supporting recommendations for change
- Manage the Investment Operations Team, and provide guidance, training, mentoring and feedback as required. Establish appropriate goals and undertake performance monitoring in accordance with organisational requirement

- Your through knowledge of investment markets and high degree of accuracy and detail orientation, build a quick regard and respect in your decision making, understanding the value of effective and collaborative internal and external stakeholder management.- At least 15 years’ experience in a relevant area of the financial services industry e
