Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A bit about your role
The Manager - Security Automation & Engineering will play a key role in advancing nbn’s cyber security capabilities. This position is responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of security engineering and automation solutions that support core functions such as the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), SOAR, Threat Simulation, Vulnerability Management, and Threat Intelligence.
Operating within a dynamic environment that spans both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, the role will lead the delivery of technical initiatives that improve operational efficiency and security posture. A significant focus will be placed on the adoption of AI/ML technologies and Large Language Models (LLMs) into cyber security workflows, enabling scalable and intelligent automation across the organisation’s cyber security practice.
The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure that engineering solutions align with strategic objectives and security standards. It also involves guiding the adoption of emerging technologies and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
A bit about you
Experience working with security capabilities and teams is preferred, as is familiarity with cloud and on-premises infrastructure. The role requires a methodical and outcomes-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across teams.
A commitment to continuous learning, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex technical environments will be key to success in this role. The position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to nbn’s security strategy while supporting the development of innovative, future-ready solutions.
